Holy smokes! Camp is only 3 months away. We're stoked. While we work on collecting bakery sponsors and spreading the word about camp, we hope you're working on your finest delectable creations!
We recently received an email from a new baker asking us,
"What's the deal with this? What's my incentive, if its free?"
Well bakers, for the past two years, we've had at-home and professional bakers attend camp. They bring their cupcakes and spread the word about their business. Our attendees include brides-to-be, party planners, cupcake connoisseurs, and more. Everyone knows word-of-mouth marketing is the best kind of marketing (and it's free). So consider bringing your cupcakes to CAMP, come to network, and maybe collect some ideas from other bakers too...

We want your designs!
We're crowdsourcing the design of the 2012 CupcakeCamp t-shirt and we want your submission! Email us your super funky fresh design ideas. We'll put them up for voting at the beginning of August. If your design is selected, you're name or company will go on the back of the shirt, we'll mention you at camp, and you get to come taste cupcakes for FREE (of course, everyone gets to come and taste cupcakes for free...but hey, it's still a perk!)

Announcing Cupcakecamp New Haven 2012!
It's our third annual Cupcakecamp New Haven! Join us on OCTOBER 20 at BAR in New Haven for an awesome day of tasting, sharing, judging and donating to a cause!
This year will feature a door giveaway, and a new "the tasters have spoken" contest to vote on the best tasting cupcake. We're signing on sponsors and bakers to make this camp the best one yet!
Although the event is still free for everyone, we strongly encourage you all to consider donating to a very special cause, that has personal meaning to us camp planners.

Those of you who attending the first camp in 2010 may have met Jodie and Kelli, the creative minds/crazy girls behind the scenes. Last year, Kelli planned camp all on her own. Jodie was diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin Lymphoma at 22 weeks pregnant earlier in the year. So, in September, three weeks after she gave birth to her daughter, Lola Mae, Jodie was resuming cancer treatments at Smilow and Kelli was planning an awesome camp that encouraged support and donations to Closer to Free. This year, Jodie's back with Kelli and they're hoping to plan the best camp yet. Please remember that although camp is free for everyone, we want to support a place that provided support to us through a really difficult time.
Closer to Free at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven donations can be made here. They can also be made at the door when you arrive at camp in October! If you donate online, make sure to add CupcakeCamp New Haven in the 'Please tell us anything else you would like us to know about your gift' section...
